Topic: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

hi all!
I have issue with RME Babyface Pro FS. It worked well under windows, then I used it with MacOS - also ok
But then when I connect it back to windows - in audio devices it switch all audio outputs in loop

I have reinstalled drivers - it helped one time, but then again in same scenario I can not get it working.
May be it switched to special 'Mac' mode? (I did not switch it manually)
Is there hardware reset on device?

Not seen before. But such an instability asks for checking power. Use a different USB port, a different USB cable and/or a real external power supply.

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

it is not really instability.
It tries to activate devices in loop, tried different ports and cables.
To reproduce - try to use device in Windows then GarageBand in MacOS, and then connect to Windows with installed drivers

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

any help on this topic? how to make RME live again?

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

Have you taken it back out of cc mode after using it on the Mac?

Babyface Pro Fs, Behringer ADA8200, win 10/11 PCs, Cubase/Wavelab, Adam A7X monitors.

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

Your report sounds like the USB pins are not making a solid connection.

Please make sure the right angle USB plug is FULLY snapped in on the side of the unit. It can be a little tight at first, so you may need to use more force than expected.

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

thank you for reply, but it not looks like problem of cables.
same cables works well on MacOS

problem seems to be related of using device on Windows After MacOS.
Can you please try to reproduce it?

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

also in case cable problem - audio devices would blink in Device Manager as well

but here you can see they are stable in Device Manager,

cables in RME are really solid built

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

switching to Class Compilant mode and back not helps. In CC mode - Windows not see it, in non CC it start looping as described

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

Have you tried this with another USB cable, another USB port, and external power supply for a test?

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

may be something wrong with Windows? When it happens first time - I reinstalled drivers and it helps.
Is there a way to get Windows system logs to see what happens there?

Re: RME Babyface Pro FS Windows after MacOS issue

issue solved by rebooting windows with RME connected. Thank you
