Topic: Harware Routing Issue (TotalMix FX/RME FIREFACE/LIVE 10)
I recently purchased an external hardware unit and I’m trying to figure out the correct routing for it. I want to be able to print audio in Ableton Live 10 from an SSL Fusion. I’m trying to send audio from Ableton Live, into an SSL Fusion, and then back into Live in order to record it back in. All the routing is being done in TotalMix FX.
My routing seems to be correct, but I’m hearing both the original audio and the affected audio coming in from the external device at the same time. This causes there to be a really nasty phase issue and a feedback problem.
I’m doing something wrong, but cannot isolate the problem. Ideally I would like to be able to route the audio from the system into the SSL Fusion and only be able to hear what is being affected. However, once I mute the source audio from AN 1/2, signal to AN 5/6 is also muted.
This is my very first time using hardware in my digital setup, so I could use any advice you all have.
Here is what my setup is currently:
Cables:
RME Fireface 802 (Output 5/6) -> SSL Fusion (Input L/R) -> SSL Fusion (Output L/R) -> RME Fireface 802 (Input 5/6)
RME TotalMix FX routing:
AN 1/2 (on) [Going to my main monitors]
AN 5/6 (on) [Coming from the SSL Fusion]
Ableton Live 10
input config (mono inputs and stereo inputs 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6) selected
output config (mono outputs and stereo outputs 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6) selected
Channel 1 has the source audio playing (Audio From: Ext. In 1/2)
Channel 2 has signal coming in from the SSL Fusion (Audio From Ext. In 5/6)
SSL Fusion:
INPUT TRIM and OUTPUT TRIM are at 0 and all other modules are bypassed.
