Topic: RME ADI2 panel finish

Hi everyone,

I have just purchased an ADI2 Pro, which seems great sonically.  However, the panel on the front has some odd marks on the top edge.  It seems that either the top edge of the panel is rough or glue has not been applied uniformly.  It can be seen up to about two metres away.  Pictures:

I'm debating asking my dealer to get another one in for me and would appreciate any comments as to how normal it is.

Matt,

Does the Face Plate feel "loose" in any way?   If not, then your observation is that of a purely random Cosmetic issue.

My "Vintage" ADI-2 DAC always was, and still remains a "Manufacturing Reference" as it is the Picture of QC excellence.

I think perhaps that a careful stroke with a Fine-Line Permanent Black Marker (Sharpie!!) would solve the matter immediately. *I specify Sharpie, as it's Color Density, and Permanance are the DeFacto Standard amongst other such devices.

You shouldn't HAVE to do this, but...it wouldn't hurt, would save you a considerable amount of fuss, and out here in the Country?  Would surely be MY preferred method.

That pen will ruin the unit...

Try to peel off the plastic protection film from the acrylic plate. That would be the easy explanation for that edge. If the film is not present (it usually is removed in the factory) then the display is indeed a bit too far out (0.1mm or so).

Oops.  I don't recall a Protective Film on my Display, but I could be wrong.  It's been a long time.

My Display is flawless.  Always was.

Thanks for the help.  The protection film is not on, so I'll speak to my dealer.
