Topic: BF Pro low microphone input level

Need help setting up. I got a babyface pro fs and haven’t been able to get it to record, it’s very low I’m using a mxl 990. I turned 48v on and there’s hardly any signal. I’ve tried two microphones and the xlr cable is new

Yes I turned up the gain

Re: BF Pro low microphone input level

How far did you turn it up? Can you test another microphone? What's the source you are recording?

Re: BF Pro low microphone input level

So I have a Rode nt2 and with a vocalist close to the mic I have gain between 23 and 28 for a good recording level. If they are loud 28 will overload. Have you tried the mic in both XLR inputs? Have you tried a different cable? Phantom power is definitely lit up? Does the mic work elsewhere? Is the usb cable the one that came with the bfp? Is this a laptop and could the usb power be low (just clutching at straws with that one)
