Topic: New BF owner.. converting SPDIF optical to ?

Hi,

Just bought a Babyface Pro FS.. and would like to connect it to my main speaker system.

I use a venerable DEQX HDP digital crossover to drive my amps/speakers and it has :

i. Coax SPDIF
ii. AES/EBU XLR
iii. Balanced XLR analog inputs going to 24bit/96kHZ SHARC ADCs

For best audio quality, I'm guessing that I want to avoid using the analog outputs of the Babyface ?

Would I need to be picky about which Optical - Coax SPDIF converter I use ?

Thanks,
Andrew

Only if you want to use 192 kHz. Otherwise simple cheap converters will do.
