Topic: Feature request - option for monitoring section on the left?

Hi MC, RME users etc!

Big big big fan of my RME interfaces here - the Madiface XT is the CORE of my mix room and I absolutely *love it*.


I know everyone's always suggesting X Y Z new features etc, but I have one simple one. Is it possible to have an option in TotalMix to move the Control Room strip to the left-hand side?
This would make things a little more logical for me but (most importantly) other people coming in and using my room won't be confused by Outputs 1/2 not showing up in the logical place next to the 3/4. Every time I have someone coming in to use the room and I'm not there, they load up my TotalMix workspace file I've sent through and then I get a phone call asking where outputs 1-2 are.

Dear Alex,

just a comment as RME user, as you also asked RME users here ... Not so sure whether this is really an improvement.

The analog mixer I worked with so far have the monitoring all on the right side.
Next .. if you have an UFX II or UFX+, then the phones outputs can be AN 9/10 or AN 11/12 OUT.

Then you would have in the TM FX control room the following order:
AN 3-8, ADAT 1-16, MADI 1-64  || control room:  Ph1: AN 9/10, Ph2: AN 11/12, MainOutB: ADAT9/10, Mon: AN 1/2

The order in terms of numbers "from left to right", doesn't fit to 100% as well, no matter whether control room would be left or right.

Maybe another suggestion, did you try to disable the "NAMES" button in the blue field ?
Then you can use names of your own, simply rename the labels as you need....
It will keep the original names as long as you do not rename something.

I think this would be more useful compared to the "questionable" programming effort to place control room to left side.

I hope this could be a viable solution for you, I pretested and think it would work nicely for you.
