Topic: UFX+ Win10 - distortion on inputs in every DAW but not in TotalMix
Hi,
I have a very strange issue and, this time, no idea what the cause could be. If someone could give me pointers or knows a solution...please help!
I've installed Sequoia 16 and Reaper (both latest versions) with the latest RME drivers + firmware under the latest Win10 64-bit. Everything plays great and works well in the DAWs (at any sample rate), also with Media Player etc under Windows.
However, as soon as I try to record any of the inputs (analog or MADI), in either DAW, I get a very crunchy digital kind of bit-crushed and distorted sound. It doesn't matter if the session has just one recording channel or lots of them with plugins, the result is always the same and sounds like in the sample below. Of course, I checked that sample rates etc are good, match, tried different ones and tried all the settings in the Fireface options. Deactivating the onboard soundcard didn't help, latency and buffer don't make any difference. Also all the settings in the DAWs seem normal and good to me, as said, it sounds exactly the same in either of them.
The good news is that monitoring the inputs in Totalmix shows that everything is fine there! The signals sound how they should sound, no sign of any distortion. The bad news is that neither DAW receives them like that.

Any idea what that could be? I'll also try one of my Macs tomorrow (I'm normally not a Win user).
Thanks for any help,
Peter
