Topic: Noise during recording with Fireface UC

Hey there.

I have a Fireface UC and getting problems during recording. It constantly records a noise (Rauschen).

My test-setup:
- I unplugged the inputs 1 and 2 (no cables in there).
- In TotalMix I've set the input fader of channel 1/2 on 0 and also the gain-knob on 0 (see here: https://i.ibb.co/prfHFcH/TotalMix.png)

In Logic Pro X, I record the Inputs 1 and 2 and still get noises (see here: https://i.ibb.co/qDYs7y9/LogicPro.png)

What am I doing wrong??

Thank you for your help!

Re: Noise during recording with Fireface UC

No worry nothing wrong here, thats normal.
When you low the fader of the input channel that has no effect on the signal in the recording DAW.
The DAW receive the same signal as the Totalmix input channel, the fader is only for the forwarding signal to monitoring for the musicians on the stage or for the main mix for the PA for example.
With gain closed and nothing connected you still have the background noise floor, may be it's cosmic background radiation from the big bang or just free electrons in every electronic part.
