Topic: Hooking a Digiface USB into a UCX

Hi,

I'm new to the RME ecosystem and recently bought a Fireface UCX. I really love the unit so far but in hindsight I'd really love to be able to hook up some additional stereo ADAT or S/PDIF signals such as an Xbox and PS4 etc to test audio features.

To do this I was thinking of purchasing a digiface USB and using totalmix to route signals of the Digiface into the single ADAT input on the UCX.

Example:

Digiface ADAT Input 1= Xbox
Digiface ADAT Input 2= PS4

In Digiface's totalmix -

Take Digiface ADAT input 1 channels and route to ADAT output 1
Take Digiface ADAT input 2 channels and route to ADAT output 1

Digiface ADAT out 1 > UCX ADAT Input 1

Route UXC ADAT ins to analogue either as a stereo or 5.1 mix via total mix.

Is it possible to actually have multiple instances of totalmix in order to do this?

Apologies if this is a dumb question...

Yes possible, but the digiface does not decode 5.1 if it is  DTS or ac3 etc. Neither does the ufx of course.
