Topic: Mixing sample rates

I have an older hardware reverb that connects via S/PDIF or AES but it can only run at 44.1 or 48.  I have lots of sessions at 88.2 and 96.  Will my Fireface UFX II be able to work with the reverb running at 48 at the same time as my DAW running at 88.2 or 96?  I'm guessing not?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Mixing sample rates

Hello!

Not possible!
All devices must be synced to the same clock!

The only way you can circumvent this, is by using a Sample Rate Converter between the reverb and the UFX II
(two SRCs, actually, one for up-sampling the reverb 's Output, the other for down-sampling the UFX II's Output)

It 's better to take the analog route!
Or down-sample your projects to 48KHz!

Re: Mixing sample rates

I did not have / check sich a setup.
But I think this could be achieved by integrating an ADI-2 Pro FS R BE into the system, which has a SRC built-in.

Maybe cross-check this with RME... as I am not sure at the moment whether the SRC happens in both direction.
From Reverb to ADI-2 Pro and vice versa.

SRC can be set to either AES or SPDIF In.

So I think this should be possible:
UFX II --- AES --- ADI-2 Pro ---(SRC)--- SPDIF --- Reverb
