Topic: Babyface Pro FS optical out into ADI-2 DAC FS?

Hi!

I would be very happy to get some help with this. I want to send the audio from the Babyface to the ADI-2 via optical and connect my headphones and speakers to the ADI-2 DAC.
I have messed aroud a lot with the settings and I can't seem to get a signal to the ADI-2.
Could someone perhaps guide me a bit?

In Totalmix, send music to the harware output channel AS1/2

M1-Sequoia, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Ah I see. You have assigned the main out to the output AS1/2, then you have to send audio just to the main out
and you have already done that.
Maybe I'm wrong but it looks like the assignment is not done properly, better click again on the AS1/2 in the assign menu.
There should be a checked Häkchen.
Then the ADI should receive sound and automatic the rest.

Could it be the babyface needs to be set to spdif out on the optical output? Or does the DAC automatically know it is receiving adat and can handle that?

It is set to spdif. I'm starting to think there is something wrong with the optical cable. But there is light coming through it atleast, so it seems far fetched.

Did you choose the SPDIF input as source at the ADI?

I switched to a new optical cable and now it works. I can atleast get all windows sounds to play through the ADI-2. But I still don't quite understand how to get all the audio to go via optical to the DAC.
When I plug in my guitar I can't get the signal picked up by the DAC, but I'm sure I'm failing somehow in the Totalmix settings.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. smile
