Topic: Attaching 2nd ADAT Preamp to Fireface 800

Hello,

I have been using an attached Presonus Digimax D8 to my Fireface 800 for awhile. They are connected via ADAT as well as a BNC Word clock cable.

I know that the Fireface 800 has 2 ADAT ins so I'd like to add a second D8 (or something similar). However, the FF does not have a second BNC input. Do you think it will be okay to attach a second D8 with only ADAT and no word clock cable?

Any advice will be much appreciated

No.

You must connect a word cable to both of them as this Digimax has no adat input only BNC sync.
All three units must have the same clock.
You can use a cheap T-splitter like this one :

Do I need a T-split for each Presonus D8 or just one?

Will the D8 properly terminate the signal or do I need to purchase a 75 Ohm BNC terminator?

Only one T-piece needed.
The BNC cable should be one of 75 ohm.
No Terminator needed also no place for one as there is only one BNC connector.
From the front panel of your DigiMax D8, select external sync using the clock button.
