RME User Forum → FireWire & USB series → will the Fireface UFX II and the old original Octamic D work together?
My trusted old Fireface 800 is slowly dying, so I'm thinking of buying a Fireface UFX II usb, and I would like to use it with my old original Octamic.
Do they speak together or will Totalmix get confused ?

They can be used via ADAT, but TotalMix has nothing to do with that. It's the same as with the FF800.

Another question:
There's 4-5 meters from the computer to the Fireface.
Will usb work reliably with that cable length ?
