Topic: Subwoofer Crossover in TotalMix FX

Hi,

I'd like to connect subwoofer to channel 3&4 in my Fireface UCX.

I'll put:

HPF for 1&2 channels (monitors)

LPF for 3&4 channels (subwoofer)

But where should I put start & end Hz for these filters with what Q parameter to make them crossover smoothly?

For example should I set them below 80Hz and above 80Hz accordingly or make bigger gap like 75Hz and 85Hz because of Q factor?

Re: Subwoofer Crossover in TotalMix FX

Sounds good with 80Hz, not easy to tell something about the gap without listening or watching it. Use a white noise signal without loudspeakers.
you can Loopback both outputs into a DAW, mix them together and monitor that in Digicheck.
If you see a gap then you can close it smoothly to perfect.

Re: Subwoofer Crossover in TotalMix FX

I don't have HPF in TotalMix EQ. Why is that?

Will low shelf filter with maximum low dB do the same?

Re: Subwoofer Crossover in TotalMix FX

Of course. It is HPF, but more flexible and adjustable.
