Topic: Supporting multiple M1610-Pro units on one AVB network

I am considering purchasing a second M1610-Pro to expand my IO. I am using it with a Digiface AVB. If I add a second M1610-Pro, do I require an AVB Switch such as the Motu AVB Switch or is it possible to daisy chain the M1610-Pros using the primary and secondary ports on the units themselves?

Re: Supporting multiple M1610-Pro units on one AVB network

The second port on the M-1610 is for redundancy only, no daisy-chaining.
So the easiest solution is to get an AVB Switch.

If you are ok with limited control capabilities on one M-1610, you might get away with chaining both M-1610s via MADI, aggregating the channels into one M-1610 first and sending them out over the existing AVB connection.

Thank you! I had not thought of using MADI. That is brilliant. I will give that a shot. If it has any challenges, I have a backup; pick up an AVB switch. Much appreciated.
