Topic: 2XFF800 adding more inputs

Hi to all,
I use Ableton 11, Windows 10, 1 fireface 800 and 2 behringer ADA8200, so a total of 26x 1/4 Jack physical inputs. I'd like to add more inputs. It's possibile connecting a second FF800 and possibly 2 more ADA8200 ? Or...which the best solution ?
Tnx in advance.

Re: 2XFF800 adding more inputs

Yes!
The 2 firefaces need to be synced, through spdif or wordclock in your case.
And you might need a second firewire card (not just a second port), but not sure about that.

Digiface USB is available and let you connect 4 ADA8200, 32 Input 32 Output over one USB socket.
Get rid of the old nonsupported Firewire stuff.

To get sound into monitors from the Digiface you need to connect the monitors to one of the ADA8200s XLR outputs or to the Digiface headphone socket with an adapter cable.

Many many TNX.

You need to look whether the Digiface USB has all the required ports to you.

If you also need MIDI, WC, AES (maybe to connect a better D/A or AD/DA converter like ADI-2 DAC/Pro),
then it would be better to look at the RayDAT which is a full digital PCIe card with a lot different I/O ports.
You can decide based on your demands whether to insert only the main card or additionally the doughter card,
which doesn't need a PCIe slot, it's connected to the main card by a ribbon cable.
Similar for the optional WC card, you even do not need to pay for WC if you do not need the card.

I own the RayDAT myself, it's a nice and flexible card, based on that one you have more options.

The only thing is .. you didn't tell whether you have a Desktop PC with PCIe slots ...
Maybe add such info to your signature, then your demand is easier to understand and you do not need to type this information again and again.
