Topic: XTC autoset gain in stereo.

I'm slowly getting to grips live recording with the UFX / XTC combination.

I have a question about using autoset gain for stereo channels when remote controlling the XTC via MIDI- and wanted to see if anyone else had any advice.

On the UFX everything works just as I'd expect - autoset gain adjustments adjust both stereo channels.

On the XTC - the stereo autoset gain is controlled with groups (or at least that's how I think I should be doing it). (These can combine more than 2 channels if needed - although I'm only using them for stereo).

However using groups means that I can't toggle the `group` autoset gain on the channel - just the `single channel` autoset gain.

How do others set up stereo channels and autoset gain on the XTC when using TotalMix FX to control it?

Hi

I am searching for exactly this. Since your post is already 3yrs old i want to ask if you did find a solution?

Thanks!

Re: XTC autoset gain in stereo.

I decided not to use stereo auto set via TotalMix on the XTC channels, and just use groups via the front panel.

MIDI remote is great - but you can’t have it running at the same time as TotalMixFx (they can fight each other).

I depend on TotalMixFx for headphones mixes etc, so just find it easier to use the UFX buttons.

Ah ok, thanks for that, good to know.
Glad you find a way to work.
