When enabling Auxdevice you might see those buttons, but it won't work.
It's only possible with Octamic XTC.
Two ways
a) via MIDI cabling (needed if you have a recording interface with ADAT)
b) via MADI, if you use a recording interface with MADI port (64ch @single speed).
Most elegant way is to use MADI.
RME introduced "MIDI over MADI", which uses some unused bits of the MADI protocol to transfer MIDI commands.
Then you do not need MIDI cabling for remote controlling the XTC everythig (Audio and MIDI) goes through this wire.
MADI offers 64ch @single speed, 32ch @double speed.
You can chain devices in a serial fashion.
You should use optical fiber cable (OM3 or OM4) which is also good for galvanic isolation.
The cable may be up to 2km long (!) between each of the devices on a MADI bus.
Example:
UFX+---OM3--->XTC1---OM3--->XTC2 .... ---OM3--->XTC8
+<-----------------------OM3---------------------------------+
This solution is very scaleable.
Up to 8 XTC may be chained on one MADI bus and the very long cable length that are supported make it possible to bring such an XTC into every recording room that you may have. Regard MADI cable as kind of multicore cable. But its at the end of the day a simple fiber cable which is also being used for computer networks.
The nice thing is that RME's MADI features can even provide delay compensation, so that audio from all XTCs arrive sample exact at the recording interface / in your DAW. Additional features of MADI delay compensation are to automatically assign the XTCs a MADI ID (1..8) and performs an automatic mapping/routing of MADI channels to each of the connected XTC's.
Delay compensation is only posisble with the Octamic XTC and its 8-port schema.
Once 12Mic will get Auxdevice support then it will have everything but delay compensation and those MADI features Auto-ID and Auto-CA (channel assignment).
Very nice setups are for the start UFX+ and one Octamic XTC. Alternatively UFX+ and 12Mic.

Also interesting, the combination of UFX+ and ADI-2 Pro FS R BE, see here:
Overview about the models, capabilities: https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/blog/ind … ses-EN-DE/
How to integrate this into your setup:

IMHO ideal setup, to give you an overview:
PC---- USB--- ARC USB (remote control for TM FX control room)
|
| (USB3 or Thunderbolt)
|
+--->UFX+-------AES-------> ADI-2 Pro FS R BE ------> Monitor / Phones
| |
| +---->-----MADI------> Octamic XTC1..8-----+
| |
+------------<-----MADI----------------------------------+
Alternatively you can use the 12Mic instead which supports MADI and AVB networks.
But as I said no Auxdevice control yet, you will manage the device through your LAN with a browser.
Alternatively through a separate application.
Delay compensation is not possible, but by the 12ports you will connect only 1-3 devices anyway to the MADI bus and for this reason delay compensation is not really required in contrast to serial chaining up to 8 XTC on a MADI bus.
This is the "big picture" how nice a MADI based setup can be.
I wrote you this so that you have an overview and can better decide, whether you want / need such features.
My setup is currently this: https://www.tonstudio-forum.de/index.ph … Setup-jpg/
