Topic: Recall workflow query

Hi all!

First post here, long term RME user, and love my UFX+

But I've had this issue for years - I don't understand what the right workflow is for recalling channels. Would really appreciate some advice.

I record the same people quite regularly. Is there a way I can save the gain/EQ/48V/compr/send settings for just the one active channel in TotalMix? To recall it exactly in the future when the musicians (hopefully) come back? Like saving a channel strip preset.

If I save the whole TotalMix window as a snapshot that's a bit of a pain - 3 months down the line I might have different track names, routing, outboard, recording rig etc etc.... I just want to be able to quickly bring in the settings of the one vocal channel (on whatever channel is currently being used), and have everything else on my mixer stay as is.

Many apologies if this has been asked before, I did search but to no avail. I appreciate any responses!

Re: Recall workflow query

Save workspace to computer.
This includes everything, window size and placement as well as routing  see manual.
Maybe even use of the 30 quick workspace select slots might help.
Saving workspaces to computer might be more flexible to you for backup an restoring to a different pc.

The only smaller part of saving a state is in the EQ and D panel via Preset. See manual for details.

Re: Recall workflow query

Thanks for the replies! I've been using EQ and compressor recalls, although I'm frustrated they don't restore LPF or EQ/compressor engagement. So there's no simple channel recall with 48V, gain, sends etc..? I don't understand why this wouldn't be a feature already, or a really common feature request.

If I have a singer come back after a few months, but my routing has changed and channels are relabelled, I don't want to recall the whole workspace or snapshot - I just need the settings of one channel. Or if 2 singers are alternating recording on the same mic on the same session, I'd want to swap channel strip settings quickly between them while maintaining fluidity in the rest of TotalMix.

It's like wanting to recall a kick drum mix settings and my DAW restoring the whole drum mix from a prior session.
