Topic: advice needed regarding driver installation

Hi folks
I moved my HDSP 9652 card to a different W 10 computer and can not get the RME driver to install correctly.
First attempt yielded adat 1/2 IO in the "sound" function of control panel but no totalmix or hammerfall icon in the task bar.
Second attempt...same.
Third attempt yielded all IO but no totalmix or hammerfall icon in the taskbar.
Fourth attempt yielded same results as first attempt.

So....anyone have advice about what I am overlooking?
cheers
Roly

You overlooked to give us the information that is needed to help...firmware version, driver version, motherboard...

Re: advice needed regarding driver installation

Hi Mathias
Thanks for your help.
The driver number is 348, unless there has been a recent update for the 9624 firmware, I believe it is current.
I can't answer your motherboard question without doing some homework.

Roly.

Re: advice needed regarding driver installation

Is that a typo? Current driver is 4.38. Firmware version is shown on the about tab, should be 155 (since 2015).

I expect your motherboard to have only one PCI slot, and that one not being fully compatible, causing these issues. Else try a different PCI slot.

Re: advice needed regarding driver installation

Hi Matthias
You are correct, just one PCI slot.
I really don't want to retire this card.
If time permits, what is the issue with a more current PCI slot that doesn't jive with your card.
Thanks for your help.

Re: advice needed regarding driver installation

Earlier motherboards had only one PCI slot left added via an additional bridge chip. That way of doing it is known to have bad compatibility and performance.

Hi Matthias
Thanks for your advice.
I have ordered a Digiface, I think that will solve my issue and now my Totalmix will have FX.

Do you mean Digiface USB ? It has no FX in Totalmix, see page 39 user manual.

M1-Sonoma, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

Re: advice needed regarding driver installation

Yikes, I thought it did came with FX.
That's ok, I've lived without it this long.
