Topic: AVB Tool / 12MIC - DC Power Input Ranges

Hello RME,

On "UXC II" it says 9-18V for DC Input and Power Supply in the package is 12V.

https://www.rme-usa.com/files/uploads/RME-Products/External/Fireface-UCX-II-C.png

But on "12MIC" and "AVB Tool", there is ONLY mentioning about exact 12V in DC Input.

I also looked to the 12Mic and AVB Tool Manual PDF, it's mentioning same 12V only:
- https://docs.rme-audio.com/avbtool/021-2c_power_supply/

It would be awesome to power RME AVB units (12Mic and AVB Tool) from 12V battery or 4 segment (14.8V) Lithium battery pack, but I don't want to fry my future unit with 15V.

Reason: I would like to build mobile rig without using any inverters or voltage regulators (which would possibly introduce noise).

Could someone from RME reply with a range of voltages which could be applied to the "AVB Tool" and "12 Mic" DC input?

Re: AVB Tool / 12MIC - DC Power Input Ranges

Hi,
the AVB Tool works with 10V-15V, the 12Mic 10.8V-15V. You damage the device when the voltage reaches 18V, so make sure that the actual output voltage of your battery pack stays within the limits even when fully charged.
Best regards,

PS: the devices work well with 12V lead-gel batteries.
