Topic: A noob seeking help...

I'm new to the the world of RME, and just bought a used Fireface 800.
It has worked just fine and still does, but all of a sudden does not receive the pc system sounds at all.
Also Ableton suddenly cannot open its ASIO.
I'm probably missing something, but since this all new to me I'd appreciate some assistance if possible.

Can you still open the mixer and settings? Is the HOST (error) LED on?

Yup. Can open the mixer. No error led.

I always turn system sounds off but are you sure TotalMix has the virtual input chosen for windows sounds turned up when the output you are using is selected?

Babyface Pro Fs, Behringer ADA8200, win 10/11 PCs, Cubase/Wavelab, Adam A7X monitors.

Please be more specific. What does "does not receive the pc system sounds" or "suddenly cannot open ASIO" refer to? Are there error messages?

Hey and thanks for getting back to me. Seems like I got the answer from a FB group and all is fine now.
