Topic: RME Babyface not recognizing guitar

I plugged in a guitar into my babyface's right-side instrument input and there is no response from the babyface or total mix. In totalmix I don't see an instrument channel, nor do I see any activity from any of the channels when I play the guitar. Note the analog 1 channel works, I have my mic plugged in there.

Which Babyface? Early versions didn’t have 4 discrete channels. I have a Babyface pro fs and all inputs appear in TotalMix

Babyface Pro Fs, Behringer ADA8200, win 10/11 PCs, Cubase/Wavelab, Adam A7X monitors.

It’s the original blue babyface. Does that mean I can’t use my instruments on the babyface?

Reading the manual helps. Inst is Channel 2 which has to be switched within TM FX.
