Topic: Can I connect an M-1610 to a Fireface 802?

I'm getting to demo an M 1610, I'm planning to do mainly mixing and mastering using outboard analog gear.

I currently have a Fireface 802, since I also do some recordings, is there a way to connect the two units mainly in order to use Totalmix and the extra headphones outputs on the 802?

Sorry if it's a dumb question..:-)

Thanks

Yes, this works with the ADAT I/Os.

Great news! Thank you.

Please be aware that the M-1610 only has ADAT outputs. In order to do DA conversion (analog outputs), you can either use MADI or AVB.

Basically, what I hope to do is to use the 802 when I'm tracking  ( just vocals ) and monitoring through the M-1610 connected to my speakers and the 802 headphones outputs. So that both me and my client can use headphones.

When mixing and mastering, I would go from the analog out of the M-1610 going into my outboard gear and back into the analog inputs of M- 1610 to print in my DAW.

Ideally all this still being able to use Totalmix.

Will I be able to do so?

With regards to MADI and AVB, I don't think the 802 is equipped for either, but I might be wrong.

Thanks
