Topic: Class Compliant Mode Buffers?

I'm using a 12.9 iPad Pro these days for mostly hobby level music production.
My current class compliant audio interface is a budget model  -  looking to upgrade to an RME interface.
One question: are there additional buffers introduced when in Class Compliant mode vs when the interface is used with a PC or MAC?
Would audio latency be greater when used with an iPad?
