the main reason for me to
upgrade from my uc interface
to the new ucx 2 is the durec
capability in stand-alone mode,
ideally in combination
with a 'remote control' for easy
start/stop recording without
using the buttons on the device.
two possible configurations could be:
1. ucx2 -> usb hub -> (arc, usb drive)
2. midi control over durec record/stop
is one of these options possible?
1 is not possible as hubs are not supported. 2 might be possible at a later stage when we add such commands (we have put that on our list). Right now just use the transport control on the display, or add an iPad (which additionally enables hub and ARC USB).

ipad/arc/hub route would also be a viable way for me.
good to hear about possible plans for midi control of durec. would make me happy (and i would probably not be the only one)
I was just looking tonight if OSC or MIDI control of UFX+ Durec was possible!
This would be handy for a lot of projects I do that need timed MADI playback
OSC supports DURec transport control. But this thread is about stand-alone, and none of our units offer OSC in stand-alone mode.

Are hubs not supported because of a hardware limitation or is this something that can be changed in firmware?

My UCX II and Arc remote just arrived 
not essential, but, if this gets supported in future, I'll totally use that feature!
Having the remote to change routings and things in standalone mode, but being able to multitrack to USB would be great
However I imagine there's a ton of challenges to overcome with latency etc when recording through a hub.

Primarily looking for a way to operate transport (rec/stop) remotely with DURec recording on the UCX II.
