Topic: Help setting up ADI 8 DS Mk2 and Raydat

Hi everyone, new to the RME world here, I just got myself a new Raydat and a second hand ADI 8 DS Mk2.
I have a couple doubts as to how to set it up optimally.
I've hooked up the ADI 8 in double cables for SMUX mode.
1.Should I use the Raydat clock or the ADI clock as master?
2.When switching from a 48k session to a 96k session on my DAW, do I have to manually set the ADI 8 in DS mode?
3.when playing back a 48k or 96k wav from the desktop (Mac Pro 2010 OSX 10.12), do I have to manually set back and forth DS mode on the ADI 8 every time?
4. Is it normal that if the raydat is set to 48k Master clock and the ADI8 is in DS mode the sound comes out only from one speaker?

any help would be appreciated, I might have some more questions soon tongue

4. If something is inconsistent with SMUX settings, yes....

Actually after some testing I realised that if the Raydat is set to master clock the ADI 8 will switch it's outputs from normal operation to DS automaticallly, the inputs however have to be switched manually.
I was also doing some measurements and noticed something quite peculiar:
The inputs in +4 and -10 mode have a different low pass filter than in lo gain mode.
In low gain it seems to be using a linear phase filter, where in the other modes seems more like a minimum phase filter.

In what circumstances would you use the high gain outs/low gain ins?
The manual reads as such:
"Lo Gain allows to work with high levels, best suited for professional users who
prefer to work balanced and at highest levels." What's that supposed to mean? XD

Literally the signal voltage levels. Not quality
Linear phase seems unlikely since it has latency

Yeah I know that's what they meant by higher levels, I'm just wondering what scenarios those might be.
Something is defenately happening in the top end, I'll post the measurments so perhaps someone more knowledgable can figure out what it is.
