Topic: UCX II Heat In Rack

I have my UCX ii sandwiched between my Furman power conditioner and a Focusrite Octopre. Both are several inches longer than the UCX ii. I noticed the face of the UCX ii is fairly warm, borderline hot. Is this cause for concern or should the UCX ii be fine? If I have to ill move the UCX ii down to the last spot in the rack, but prefer it where its at. Should I add a fan for circulation?

Hi Laminar.

If it were my UCXII I'd give space above and below it for proper ventilation at a minimum. I usually add silent cooling fans to any equipment that I'm concerned with heat build up, especially in racks.

Can you take a temp measurement of your unit? Peoples opinion of what is warm and what is hot can vary quite a bit.

Of course there's this from the manual:

When mounting in a rack, leave some space between this device and others for ventilation.
