Topic: UFX II with long USB cable?

I want to put my PC outside the studio (in the next room) so I don't hear the cooling fans. This would require a long USB cable, possibly up to 7~8 metres depending on how I route it. What's the best way to do this?

a) Passive USB cable
b) Active USB cable
c) USB Hub
d) Something else?

IMHO active USB cable. I have used these with 10 m length without issues.
