Topic: Having trouble configuring phones on my fireface UC

I love my rme fireface but during last 4 years I've been daily having this problem, could you help me please?
Everytime I want to use my headphones I need to do this manual procedure:

I tried everything, updating my fireface frimware, my totalmix, etc...  but no luck.


Running on :
- mac os catalina
- totalmix 1.75
- firmware v 138 / Driver 3.221

hi Javi,

Have you tried saving the workspace after you have the headphones set up the way you like them? Granted, you may have to load that workspace at the start of every session (not absolutely sure about that) but it would seem to be quicker than your current steps.

As to why you have to do this every time, I'll have to leave it to others more familiar with Apple products.

Thanks for the quick answer.
I asked in parallel to the support team and they answered pretty quickly.
It seems I was confussing some basic concepts.

I understood that i need to get out of daw mode, and configure a good hepadhones mix.
Nut sure though why I can not make it with daw mode.
but anyway, is working now so thanks all!

You understood that correcftly. There is no mix/routing in DAW mode within TM FX, Phones will only play what the DAW will send out on that stereo channel - the Phones mix is done in/by the DAW.

What you used all the years is a bug: Main Out B continues to play a signal when set back to a normal channel (here Phones). We will fix that, of course, but you will still need to use the full mode.
