Topic: SATA SSD for DURec

Hi,
I am trying to use a 240GB Netac 2.5" SATA III 6Gb/s SSD for DURec on the UFX+.
I have formatted to FAT32.
The UFX is not recognising the ssd and shows the message, "File system error".
I have read the manual and it definitely states that full performance will be available using a SATA SSD with a USB 3 to SATA adapter.

Can anyone please offer any assistance?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: SATA SSD for DURec

It needs to be 1 volume and partition. Often there is a small invisible partition. Use a disk manager, like disk manager in computer manager in windows and remove all volumes, then format

Re: SATA SSD for DURec

Hi Vinark,
Thanks for the reply.
I have used diskpart to remove the hidden partition. There is now only the single partition which has been formatted FAT32.
The UFX is still not recognising the drive.
Does the version of SATA have anything to do with it?
The SATA I'm using is version 3.0.

Re: SATA SSD for DURec

Not quite sure what I did differently, but I tried again deleting all partitions and reformatted the drive.
It's now working.

Thanks again.

Re: SATA SSD for DURec

Ah great, maybe there was some free space before the partition on the first try. In cameras with SD cards it is the same, but they can also format the card the right way. Here it is diy.
