Topic: How do you gainstage to outboard gear with UFX II/UFX+?

Hello folks,

I've had the UFX II here for about a week, and my outboard equipment is connected.
After a bit of testing, it seems to me that it works best with this setting:

Hardware outputs for outboard fx: Hi Gain (gainstaging inside DAW about "0 Vu") and Hardware Inputs: Low Gain
(Fader is set to -1 db insid Total Mix)
The minus 1 db on the hadware inputs ensure that I don't come in louder than I went out.
I also have a little more room if I want to crank up the comp gain or saturator box.

I wonder how you do it and If I´m doing any mistake?

Have you tested the converters, and can you tell me a secret "sweetspot" or some secret trick?

Just make sure to select proper ref levels and don't overdrive the analog inputs on the recording interface and the external device, leave a little headroom if necessary.
