Topic: Can't get sound when connecting KorgTriton LE to RME Babyface
Hello,
I have a Korg Triton LE synthesizer. It is plugged into the wall outlet and when I connect my headphones to the L/Mono audio output on the back, I can hear sound from the synth.
The headphone connection looks like this:

Now, I have an RME babyface that is connected to a Mac Mini via USB. The babyface is connected to two Yamaha HS80 speakers via XLR connectors connected to the babyface's line out L and R. When I play music on my Mac Mini, I can hear the music from the speakers and control the volume via the babyface's knob.
I want to be able to hear the Korg playing out of the HS80s so I went to a music shop and the gentleman recommended this guitar cable looking cable. Not sure what type it is but here is a picture of one of the ends both ends are the same):
I plugged this into the L/mono audio output on the Korg and connected the other end to the instrument input on the right of the babyface (next to the headphone jack). When I played the synthesizer, I heard no sound.
Any idea what is wrong? The synth works with headphones, speakers work with babyface, but babyface is not playing the sound of the synth to the speakers.
