Topic: MADI FX - How to route signals to analog outs of connected A/D conv.?

Hi there

I have 2 A/D converters connected to MADI #1 and #2 of my RME MADI FX.
A/D converter #1 (Ferrofish A32 Pro) has 32 analog INS and OUTS plus it receives 8 additional ADAT channels. It is connected to MADI FX IN #1.
A/D converter #2 (Ferrofish Pulse 16 MX) has 16 analog INS and OUTS and it is connected to MADI FX IN #2.
In TotalMix you can see all active channels (some unused are hidden).

Now I would like to use an external audio effect in Ableton Live to send a synth track ("Arp2600") to the external FX ("TimeFactor").
I want to route the ARP2600 signal to output #15/16 of A/D converter #2 but I could not figure out, how to route a signal to this output. I tried a few things, but there is never a signal coming out from OUT 15/16 of A/D converter #2.

It sees, that all INPUTs of the A/D converters are automatically routed to its corresponding OUTPUT, e.g. if a synth is conncted to converter #1's INPUT 3/4, then this signal is automatically routed to OUTPUT 3/4 of this converter.

Any idea, what I do wrong?

Re: MADI FX - How to route signals to analog outs of connected A/D conv.?

In TotalMix you aren't routing 79/80 on the software playback row (middle row) to 79/80 on the hardware outputs row (bottom row). You need to select 79/80 on the bottom row, and then raise the fader for 79/80 on the middle row.

Double clicking the fader will set it to unity.

I tried this and the LED meter of 79/80 in the 3rd row (hardware output) moves.
However, it seems that 79/80 is not  OUTPUT 15/16 of my 2nd A/D converter. I am not sure how I find out, which of the channels in the 3rd row corresponds to the single hardware outputs of my 2 A/D converters. What is the logic to find this out?

The Pulse 16 MX has a routing matrix as well, check the routing on screen. MADI I/O 1-8 and 9-16 should patch to analog I/O 1-8 and 9-16.

Re: MADI FX - How to route signals to analog outs of connected A/D conv.?

I tried it, but it does not work.
I was sending a single audio track in Ableton Live one after another to each of my 194 Hardware outputs (RME TotalMix of RME MADI FX card). The peak meter of the destination hardware output was moving every time, I was sending the audio to this hardware output in TotalMix. However, I never saw a peak meter at my A/D converter's outputs nor did I heard anything at these physical outputs.

The Pulse16 routing looks like this:

I did not modify anything in the matrix but I guess the error must be there.

The strange thing is. Routing the signal to any channel between 1/2 and 31/32 which are my hardware outputs of A/D converter #1 which is connected to MADI #1, works fine.
However, A/D converter #2 which is connected to MADI port #2 does not get anything.
