Topic: Low frequency artifacts when using Outboard

I have Madiface USB going into Ferrofish pulse MX, which is connected via adat to Cranbourne 500 Adat and a babyface.

@44.1 k
Cranbourne is master clock.

When I use hardware I get low frequency artifacts that show up after conversion.
EG: a snare hit will exhibit subs that do not appear before sending to outboard. When sent to hardware elysia nvelope 500 for example, subs play with each transient peak. The software version does not exhibit this.  It is not just this unit, but happens when using any of my hardware. I'm seeing this in Digicheck.

It's quite disconcerting, that this lovely gear should exhibit this.

Does anyone know what this is?
Is it some kind of clocking artifact?
Has anyone else seen this and have a fix?

thanks

Re: Low frequency artifacts when using Outboard

Ok silly me. I had my i/o gains set up all wrong on Ferrofish. Output up max, inputs down at minimum. Now I have zeroed them (the number 0 at the top, not the side of the meter!) it's all fine.
