Topic: Utilzing the RCA S/PDIF port on the Fireface UCX

Apologies if this is somewhere easy to find, but I did search around for awhile to no end.  Basically I'm wondering if there is a relatively cheap way to take advantage of the S/PDIF connections on my Fireface UCX for analog audio input.  I'm already using the optical ADAT, but it would be nice to be able to get those last 4 channels in and out.

How much money is “relatively cheap”?
What do you want to connect? Do you need balanced or unbalanced ports? Consumer, studio level?

Maybe ADI-2 FS could be an option for you.
Or a recording interface from used market which can run in stand-alone operation mode.

Thanks for the reply, and sorry about not being more specific. To be honest I’m not very picky about the type of analog ports. Any analog audio is the goal.  A used interface is probably going to be my route, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything obvious.  Thanks again!

Hiya,

Yea something like this is exactly what I'm looking for, although this one would only get one channel in and out.  I suppose I was hoping to see if there was something to get both ins and outs available.  Thanks for this!

You're exactly right.  I'm more interested in the inputs, anyway, so this exactly what I need.  Thank you!
