Will early MADIfaces be recognized by MacBookPro with Thunderbolt connectors?

MacBookPro with Firewire400 works with bus power, but can it work with current MacBookPro (USB-C)?

FireFace400 still works, but with Apple conversion connectors.
I can't use bus power with the Apple conversion connector, so I have to use the AC adapter.

However, the MADIface does not work with an AC adapter. Do I need an older MacBookPro to take advantage of the early MADIface?

The 'early' MADIface does not use FireWire, but a dedicated PCIe/ExpressCard interface on the computer side. No USB, no Thunderbolt.

The current MADIface USB (sic) runs from any USB port.
