Topic: UCX glitch issue on Mojave
Hi, I got a problem with my RME UCX during recording sessions.
It’s a sort of very short audio glitch (1-2") after the first 20 - 40 seconds of recording, lasting a couple of seconds, ONLY on the takes i record (I can’t hear it either in headphones or in my studio monitors in the meanwhile I'm recording…)
By this link you can hear two audio samples of this issue

My setup:
- RME UCX
- Rode K2 / Shure SM7B / SE V7
- Hackintosh 3.6 GHz Intel Core i9 64 GB ram OSX Mojave (last version)
- Reaper 6.68
Never had a problem before (last 5 years) with this setup. (Except the recordings) I can listen, produce and mix without the slightest problem!
Things I already tried to do:
- reinstall RME drivers (several times)
- tried different buffer size and recording settings
- changed USB output on my PC
- changed UCX USB cable
- disconnected all line inputs
- tried several different microphones
- tried several different cables
- tried another sound card (Audient ID14, that on the contrary works!)
- Tried RME UCX on another computer (an old MacBook Pro.. still noticed some light - different! - audio glitch)
- Tried to record on Logic Pro X instead of Reaper
- Tried to unplug almost any usb / optical device
Things I cannot try (at the moment):
- Try another power adapter
Nothing changes.
My workstation is connected to a power conditioner, never a hum problem neither a groundloop.
I'm thinking of two options
- faulty preamps
- a sort of "new" incompatibility between the UCX and my Hackintosh (which, removed this, works perfectly).
Any suggestion?
