Topic: New UCX-II with crackles/noise and power adapter problems.

I bought a new UCX-II, unpacked it and connected it to my computer (Win 10). I have still a fireface 800 too. With the UCX-II i recognized loud crackling and noise. This is not to see  in Totalmix and not to hear in the headphones only when using my spl Monitor Controller and my dynaudio bm15. I never had that with the 800. I recognized if i touch the power cable a little bit, led at the connector is off or half off, ucx-II gets off and on. Seems to be a broken cable or nor working correctly power adapter.  But could this be the cause for the noise and crackling too? RME Support says i have a Problem with my computer board. If i use different unbalanced cables to connect the spl monitor controller i have loud noises influenced by the computer. if i use XLR direct to the box the noise is not very loud.

the UCXII power connector is a locking type. you need to line up the tabs, insert and turn about a quarter turn. this is likely, at least, part of your problem smile

You might have thought that i am a complete idiot. ;-) But i am not.  Sorry for that.  I know that this is a locking connector and it was locked. I could read the message at the cable. I know thats  a wonder.

You can try a different power cable even if it is just to rule out any issues with the original cable, as you did say when you touch the cable it it disturbs the signal, that really should not happen
