Topic: Panning in Stand Alone Mode (again) BabyFace Pro Fs

Is it possible to pan Inputs in standalone? If so what's the button combination?

I know i can pan the output mix. But the inputs seem to be always set hard right or left.

There is a setting in TM where you can choose to have split stereo pairs panned or centered as a default, would that work for you?

Babyface Pro FS, MSI GS66, Studio One

Hi there,

I'm late to the party, I know, but after switching from FF800 (which serves as an ADAT converter now) to BFFS, I used the setup with a Mac Studio and only now would like to re-create the FF800 experience: when I just want to play with my synths & hardware sequencers, I leave the computer off, and the interface loads a special "stand alone setup" with all input and sync settings made for "play'em all on all channels to the PA".

Obviously, the BFFS can't store such a configuration made in TotalMix - I seem to have to set it up on the minimalistic button interface of the BFFS, right?

Why is that so? And more importantly: do you consider giving us the good old "set it up in TM and store it in the unit" or is that out of the question? I find it very difficult to somehow mess with ADAT and BFFS inputs on those few buttons and the dial without REALLY seeing what's going on. Any chance that changes? Stand alone mode needs some love...

Best regards,

Christian

The standalone mode with stored user presets is available on the different UCX and UFX models and also on the FF802. There is another concept for the Babyface models. RME probably doesn’t see it for users replacing a FF800 but as handy portable solution. Because it has only four analog inputs and outputs, a routing setup to use it as standalone ADAT converter makes no sense.

UCX - FF 400 - Babyface pro - Digiface USB - ADI-2 (original)
Mac mini M1 - Macbook pro - iPad Air2

Re: Panning in Stand Alone Mode (again) BabyFace Pro Fs

Is it a pity it is not possible to store TM setting for standalone use. At least one..... But yes, it is how it is.

Panning is not possible in standalone. It seems to me it would be doable in FW.....  But yes, it is how it is.

But, is there a way to have Mic1 in center and not L (in standalone)? At least this would be handy to achieve somehow...
