Topic: RME Digiface USB for Mac Mini & Ferrofish A32pro?

Hi everybody.
I am upgrading my setup. Running Logic Pro on a Mac Mini 2018 with a 24+ analog mixer.

The Ferrofish A32pro has 32+32 in/outs, and gets my preference for main convertor, but it has no connection over USB to my Mac.
Before I go ahead and purchase this unit, I want to make sure I can get all signals in and back out of my Mac.

Would the RME Digiface be the right solution?
Does it bring the Ferrofish's 4 x 8 ADAT ins + outs to and from my Mac Mini?

Many thanks
Roald

Re: RME Digiface USB for Mac Mini & Ferrofish A32pro?

Digiface USB would be possible, but would limit you to single speed or you loose 16 ports.
4xADAT I/O = 32 ports@single speed
4xADAT I/O = 16 ports@double speed

As the Ferrofish also supports MADI (per SFP), a MADI based solution would allow for more flexibility.
MADI = 64ch at single speed, 32ch at double speed.

RME Recording Interfaces with 1-3 MADI buses, e.g.:
MADIface USB (1x MADI I/O), the least expensive solution.

Alternatives, e.g.:
UFX+ (1x MADI I/O)
HDSPe MADI FX (3x MADI I/O)
MADIface XT (3x MADI I/O)
