Topic: dB SPL

I've just had a quick play with Digicheck NG to see if it could give a readout of dB SPL.

I was hoping to have a constant readout of this to manage my control room volume and DC seems to have everything else I need like large text display but as levels get louder the negative values displayed get smaller - the opposite of what I was hoping.

I have a SPL meter to calibrate the mic sensitivity but I could not see a way to get DC to to a dB SPL readout.

Is it possible now and if not can I make this a feature request please.

Kind regards

Re: dB SPL

dB SPL is a measure of level in an acoustic space, whereas digitally you can only measure relative to digital full scale.

Re: dB SPL

Thanks for the reply.

Yes I understand that but if I have an appropriate microphone plugged into a mic preamp on an rme interface that has a calibrated input sensitivity then theoretically whatever the mic hears can be displayed as dB SPL. It just requires a reference SPL meter to do the calibrating which I have.
