Topic: Apple macbook pro M2 + babyface (1st generation)

Hello,

I have just acquired a macbook pro with apple M2 chip, I have an old babyface sound card, which therefore connects to usb 2.

Since newer computers don't have USB inputs, I bought a Belkin Hub 4-1, which has two USB-A 3.0 BC1.2 ports

I tried to connect on my hub, in usb, an external hard drive, a midi keyboard, license key etc, everything works, no problem.

But as soon as I connect the babyface on it, I have a nasal sound that I hear continuously.
I have headphones plugged into it, and I can hear, without putting it on my ears, continuous clicks on it.

Do you know where the problem could come from?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: Apple macbook pro M2 + babyface (1st generation)

I connect the old Babyface directly into the USB-C port with a regular cheap USB cable, it works fine on this M1 MacbookAir.

M1-Sequoia, Madiface Pro, Digiface USB, Babyface silver and blue

I'll try this solution if it really doesn't want to work with my hub, thanks.

I ended up buying a usb/usb-c cable, and it works.

I still haven’t understood why it didn’t want to work with my adapter, but so bad

Maybe just not enough power on the usb hub.
