Topic: Spdif out on (old) Babyface doesn't work with Sony bluetooth receiver

Hi guys I'm bothering you for a peculiar matter..
I bought a wearable bluetooth speaker Sony SRS-NS7, it has a receiver with an optical input, it is ment for TV actually, to shorten the audio signal latency.
Now, I wanted to experiment it with the BF but there is no way to make it work, I'm not an expert but I tried a lot of stuff.
Of course on Fireface USB it is set on "Optical Out: SPDIF" and the routing should be good on TotalMix..
It works with the TV so cables should be ok.
Any ideas?? I thank you so much in advance

How is clock synchronisation?
Who is clock master, who slave?

Internal, is that what you wanted to know? Thanks for your fast answer

If I remember right you might need to set protocol to SPDIF in driver settings.

I'm sorry, I don't even know how to share a link, first time in a forum

OK optical out is spdif
But then the hw output is as1/2 not 7/8.
As soon as you change protocol from adat to spdif you have only 2ch instead of 8.

So in bottom row (HW output)  select the proper submix AS1/2 and  then turn the fader of either hw inputs or  -  in this case - sw playback channels  (middle row) to 0dB to route that audio to the selected output  / submix.

thank you for your kind ansewrs Ramses.. I already did that.. the SW playback enters in the AS, the receiver gives the signal of no audio detected (it's in the gray Optical output, the right one)
There has to be something else, maybe some kind of incompatibility..

Re: Spdif out on (old) Babyface doesn't work with Sony bluetooth receiver

When I google for the Sony then I see only a bluetooth device, nothing in terms of SPDIF.
Please link to your product and a manual page.

(Yes the Transmitter is USB powered)

Now, I just made this: output of the BF to the optical Input of my Focusrite 18i8 and it worked, I can hear the software playback with my headphones plugged into the Focusrite, so there has to be some issue with the sony transmitter, although I can not understand the differnce of an optical output signal from a tv and the one of the RME

Ask Sony.

Try Fireface settings clock source external optical.
Those consumer gear mostly is set to 48kHz fix nothing to change no settings.

Exactly. Might only work at 48 kHz.
