Topic: Dell D6000 / Babyface Pro

Hi, I recently purchased a Dell Universal Dock D6000.  If I connect the Babyface Pro to the D6000, it lights up, but I cannot use the device for audio playback.  In my list of output devices it does not appear.

I have a Mokin USB-C hub, if I connect the Babyface Pro to that it works as normal.

My computer is a M1 MacBook Air running Big Sur.

It is possible to get the Babyface Pro working with a Dell D6000?

Re: Dell D6000 / Babyface Pro

In the specifications for your docking station it is stated: "NOTE: Audio pass-through is not supported on the D6000 series Dock."
Might be the whole problem right there?

Hmm, I guess the D6000 is not looking so universal.

this piece has audio In and Out (when it will work)
so it is an audiointerface itself !
And for the Mac you have to organize an aggregate device when you want to use multiple audio interfaces.

It is anyway weird, how can a huge company bring out a device with non-working features !?
Audio pass-trough not working, but what is the driver doing with the computer system ?
Is it loading an audio driver and blocking the system to other audiointerfaces ?

Wondering if you can use the onboard loudspeaker when the D6000 is connected.?

At least you can hope for a driver update for this unit.

Re: Dell D6000 / Babyface Pro

Dell do a D6000 and a D6000S, apparently the only difference is the S does not come with the audio output.  Neither allow audio pass through.

It's possible to connect the D6000 (for extra display monitors) and the Mokin (connected to the Babyface Pro) into both USB-C ports on the M1 Macbook Air.  But it would have been nice to have everything connected to the hub.

Are there any DisplayLink hubs that support audio pass through people can recommend?

I got recommended this, and it does the job well.
