Topic: Deemphasis

As deemphasis originally was performed through electronic components I want to know how it is done in ADI 2 family.
Is  a conventional filter applied or is it done in software.
If done in software does it account for the typical phase changes?

I just want to know if it is better soundwise to apply deemph in playback or if I should go the route of applying a convolver to all my affected files.

Re: Deemphasis

It's all in the manual, search for "emphasis":

De-Emphasis
Auto, OFF, ON. Default: Auto. For manually de-/activating the DAC's de-emphasis filter. See chapter 34.5.

De-emphasis was a digital lfilter within the DAC chip as far as I can think back. As these are not phase-linear filters they will have the same phase changes as an analog/discrete solution would have.
