Topic: Fireface 400

I have recently upgraded my old PC I7-4700 chip to a I9-13900. This meant i needed a new motherboard.

My Fireface 400 worked perfeclty still after all these years and i want to continue to use it.

I have moved the old Firewire card to the new PC and there is a crackling happening. I am still in windows 10 - using the same card etc. Any reason for this and how i can elimiate it. It crackles in the background, volume on the software is all muted and still happens. Just sounds like static. I have tried all the PCi slots but does it on all of them.

Any ideas if this is fixable as i really cant afford a new card

Re: Fireface 400

If you installed any special driver for the FireWire card, remove it.

If the default Windows FW driver was used, try the Legacy driver (XP FireWire stack) here:
