Topic: Fireface UC MIDI port problem

Hello,

I've noticed one new problem when using UC MIDI port 1 on breakout cable.
It started to have  latency. When i switch the same synth to port 2, it doesn't have any latency.
I'm listeninig through Totalmix.

My Midi signal path is like this - MIDI controller to computer via USB, then UC MIDI port 1 output to one synth,
and MIDI port 2 out to another synth.
When i play that synth that is connected to port 2, it works flawlessly as always, but for some reason port 1 started to have latency. I tried to switch ports and again, which ever synth i connect to port 1 it has latency, and port 2 doesn't.

Another strange thing is when i send written MIDI from Cubase track to that port, it plays in sync with click, but as soon as i play from the keyboard, it starts to introduce noticable latency. hmm

Any idea? I'm on latest WIN10, latest UC drivers, Cubase 12.0.50.

Re: Fireface UC MIDI port problem

Ok, problem solved!

Disabled that port in Cubase and enabled it again and now it works as it should. I know it’s not RME problem, but Cubase. It might be useful to someone though.
