Topic: Fireface UCX: Mic records only left channel in Windows 11

This post illustrates my problem perfectly, but my interface is the Fireface UCX:

To summarize:

My Fireface UCX has 2 XLR inputs (analog 1 and analog 2). Windows 11 interprets these channels as a single, combined stereo channel. Thus, the Windows 11 recording device is ALWAYS stereo. In Windows 11 sound properties, I can select 2, 4, 6, and 8 channels, but not just 1 channel.

Software that uses ONLY the Windows settings for the recording device will pick up the mic on one channel: the left channel if the mic is plugged into mic 1 and the right channel when it's plugged into mic 2.

Do any software/firmware updates or workarounds exist?

EDIT: Perhaps all I need is an XLR splitter? Run the signal from my mic power supply through the female output, and connect each of the two male cables to mic 1 and mic 2 on the interface. Something like this:

You can link Mic1 and Mic2 to stereo, then click AN1→2 button.
