Topic: How to control TotalMix from Ableton 11?

Hello everyone.

I recently ran into a problem that I can't control TotalMix via midi commands I send from Ableton Live.

I have already read all the topics on this forum that deal with TotalMix control, but no luck. TotalMix just ignores everything even with MIDI Control Enabled. Or do I really need some hardware instrument to control TotalMix because of the Mackie protocol?

The only way I could make it work is to connect MIDI keyboard to RME Midi In and control TotalMix by playing keys (only real playing, not midi sends).

Does anyone know if it is possible to control TotalMix (mutes, faders, etc) directly from Ableton without any additional hardware?

My system: Macbook Pro (Intel), MacOS BigSur, TotalMix Latest update, RME UCX (usb).

Hello!

Maybe, you could use this: https://hexler.net/touchosc#resources , for what you 're after?

From hexler.net:

TouchOSC Bridge is a standalone application that relays MIDI messages sent from TouchOSC to any MIDI capable application on your computer (and vice versa). TouchOSC Bridge is free to download and use

I haven't tried it, but it seems to do the job, from what I read. Just configure TMFX for OSC!
It 's, also, free!

EDIT: After researching more, I think you might need to get the main app, as well(which is not free)

You will, also, need this for Ableton : https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/connection-kit/

RME Gear: Digiface USB, HDSP 9632
